This video regarding Al-Muhajirun’s former spokesman, Hassan Butt, follows up the two previous ones regarding Al-Muhajirun.
It’s REALLY hard to figure out just when exactly Butt is telling the truth; he’s come out with three different points of view inside of a 10-year period; maybe everything he says is peppered with lies. He was an outspoken spokesperson for al-muhajirun, then he ‘reformed’ and now he’s claiming he made it all made up. This is just too convenient, since the reason he started singing like a bird THIS time is because he was on his way to Pakistan and was detained by the MI5. Apparently, he must have thought that if he renounced terrorism, then he would be given a pass – but it appears there are some Britons who would like to see him pay for the crimes he has committed.
So no problem, “I lied!”
And all is forgiven, right?
It’s too bad, because it seemed that…for just a short while…he had come to his senses. He was even working on a book about his turnaround, called “Leaving Al Qaeda”, and being that he’s been interviewed by the BBC, CBS, Prospect magazine and The Sunday Times, it should come as no surprise that they’re all resisting turning over to the court- the material like notes they took during the course of their interview work on Butt. The police themselves, according to the journalists who want to protect Butt, will be under scrutiny for their counter terrorism work. I find that hard to believe with all his public admissions he made early on and all the crazies associated with al-Muhajidun, some of whom are in jail – and at least one who is waiting to be extradicted. Journalists were not interviewing a lone young man – there were others in the interviews, who seemed to verify what it was he was saying, and surely journalists wouldn’t have swallowed a complete line of BS, now, would they? They seem all too eager to promote the lies of terrorists as long as the lies come out to the terrorists’ benefit.
The extremist who turned into a moderate
Hassan Butt speaking before 7/7
“I would rather be a traitor to Britain than to my religion” November 2001
“I have direct responsibility for the British recruits. It is my job to get them into the training camps here where they prepare for war” In Pakistan, November 2001
“If they do return, I believe they will take military action within Britain” January 2002, of the British Mujahidin
“This is all about jihad in Manchester. My message to all Muslims is that they should be supporting jihad no matter how hard it is becoming. All the laws the British Government make, they should break” October 2002
“ I feel absolutely nothing for this country. I have no problem with the British people . . . but if someone attacks them I have no problem with that either” 2004
Speaking after 7/7
“What I’ve come to realise is that killing for the sake of killing, and killing in the name of Islam for the sake of killing, is completely and utterly prohibited” March 2007
“Some \ believed the bombings were orchestrated by the Government . . . Others believed it was near-impossible for four British-born Muslims to be behind such indiscriminate violence . . . Two years on I still hear the same conspiracy theories being clung to by a Muslim community that is living in a comforting state of denial” July 2007, on 7/7
“Only when Muslims admit that 9/11 and 7/7 were the work of Muslim terrorists can we move forward to the next juncture: which is recognising the hard truth that Islam does permit the use of violence” July 2007
AIM asked Was CBS Duped by Radical Islamist? Yeah…but it’s hard to tell precisely what about this thing is a lie.
Hassan Butt was arrested at the end of May 2008 while he was trying to board a flight to Pakistan held for questioning, and finally released in early June. Interestingly enough, my fairly recent fight on youtube with an islamist that has claimed the al-muhajirun name on youtube – but has a NUMBER for an account name – out of London – was what drew my attention to this; as I had THOUGHT that the al-Muhajirun organization was supposed to be ‘defunct’.
It’s funny how bloggers are attracted to certain stories while they ignore updates on stories they’ve blogged about in the past….it feels like a high school contest for Homecoming Queen sometimes…what blogs get links, what blogs are noticed by the bigger bloggers, etc.
At any rate, I found the Butt story rather interesting and it fit right into the war I’m waging against the Islamist on youtube – who – in my opinion, should have his account revoked for spreading terrorist propaganda.
The Times UK Online has an article…
Police face scrutiny over the arrest of radical jihadist who renounced violence
Media organisations will clash with Greater Manchester Police in court this week over moves to force them to hand over ‘evidence’
The media, which seems to serve as terrorists’ man servants and works hand in hand with terrorists like Bilal Hussein – is resisting turning over any ‘evidence’. Don’t you just love how they have that word “evidence” in quotes.?
